Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial

The Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial is a bit harder to reach and out of the way than most of the usual sights in the DC area but it offers a very unique experience making it a highly recommended place to visit while you’re here. It is an old fashioned memorial but the effect that running water has while telling the story of the Roosevelt years is absolutely worth the effort going. The running water serves as both to enhance the retelling of the man’s story and also has a very soothing effect for visitors.
At daytime, the feeling you get while walking through the memorial is like being amidst history in its more exciting and important times. At night, the effect of the water flowing all around is a bit sentimental in the least.
Going through the memorial, you will learn a lot about Roosevelt and his presidency as it tells the man’s story as you go along. The quotes carved in stone were a nice touch too. Do try to go there while the cherry trees are in bloom. Even though its location may make it hard to go to, or just plain unknown to many, this memorial is magnificent and highly recommended for those who want to learn more about Franklin Delano Roosevelt or for those looking for a great experience.
