Monuments and Memorials Archives

I took this shot from the the bike trail between Rosslyn and Crystal City.  It was dusk, so I thought it would be a pretty cool shot.

I took this one in the same area and the Kennedy center looked equally intriguing.

The national law enforcement officer’s memorial is located in the heart of Washington ,DC at judiciary square. It is basically made for the appreciation of those 19,000 Law enforcement officers who have sacrificed their lives while doing their duty. The main aim behind the national law enforcement officer’s fund is to increase the public support and encouragement for the law enforcement profession.

The memorial hall building is very well constructed with a beautiful and reflecting pool which is bounded by the walkway on the park. Beside the walkways, a wall is constructed which has the name of all those law enforcement officers, federal and state officers as well who have sacrificed their lives while performing their duty. Apart from this, memorial also offers visitor centre and store that offers the visitors to buy things for themselves or for souvenirs and also get the opportunity to learn more about the history of law enforcement officers.

Besides that, in the year of 2000 the United States congress granted the permission for the establishment of national law enforcement museum. The museum will start working in the year of 2013 and according to a normal estimate more than 400,000 visitors are expected to visit this museum on yearly basis. The reason behind the construction of this museum is to tell the story of American law enforcement via exhibits, researches and education.
