So I could tell you that anytime of the year is a good time of the year to go to Washington, DC, but then I’d just be regurgitating what every single guidebook says.  On the other hand, different times are going to be better for different people.  For example, if you want to avoid the crowds then September through March is generally a good time to go, but you may freeze your butt off.  If you want to see the Cherry Blossoms then of course you must go in the Spring, at a specific time.  Summer time will of course be the most crowded with school trips, families, and crowds of locals swarming the National Mall to “enjoy” the sweltering heat of the swamp that is DC.
