2100 Massachusetts Avenue Northwest
The Fairfax’s location two blocks from the Dupont Circle allows guests to walk to several attractions nearby, such as the White House and George Washington University. There are also several dining and shopping options just around the corner. The Brickskeller Pub is definitely worth a visit. For visiting places further away, you can avail of the Metro with the nearest station only a block away. The hotel rooms are nicely decorated though not very large. The hotel also offers a very convenient babysitting service. The Fairfax Lounge is the ideal place to have a relaxing drink at the end of a hectic day of sightseeing. The in-house restaurant, The Jockey Club, is the Fairfax hotel’s USP. Dating back decades, the refurbished establishment preserves the charm of old and accentuates it with Art Nouveau lighting to create a private ambience with a view. Duck à l’orange and trout amandine are some of the favorites that attract a regular clientele to this restaurant. Although there is a lot to recommend the Fairfax, the lack of a swimming pool may be an issue for some guests. The small size of the gym is also a minor disappointment.
